The ASHHO Cultural & Job Training Center at Tumwater is opening its doors for a mental health gathering about suicide and its well-known cultural bazaar.

Suicide Awareness Gathering

September is Suicide Awareness Month, as supported by the counties proclamation. In line with this, ASHHO is inviting the community for a Suicide Awareness Gathering on Monday, September 30, 6 to 8 p.m.

The event will be a time for reflection, connection, and community to honor all who were lost to the complex issue of suicide.

Participants will share stories, honor memories, and offer tools for healing. Runia Gazi's story and personal reflections on mental health awareness will also be discussed. Runia is a family member who died from suicide.

There will be a candlelight tribute to honor those we’ve lost. Dinner will be served, with a suggested donation of $25 per person. Interested attendees are encouraged to register so that organizers can prepare enough food.

Together, we will share stories, gain valuable tools for understanding, and create a healing space to remember those we’ve lost and continue the fight for mental health and community wellness.

ASHHO has three remaining Cultural Bazaars on October 5, November 2, and December 7 from 12 to 4 p.m.
