Road closure: 15th Avenue SW between Columbia Street and Water Street through June 10

Roadwork will close 15th Avenue SW between Columbia Street and Water Street, south of the Capitol Campus in Olympia.

Starting today and expected to last until June 10, crews will undertake the removal of existing asphalt to regrade and repave this section of 15th Avenue SW, according to the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services. 

Infrastructure improvements will include the removal of the sidewalk, curb, and gutter on the north side of the avenue to install electrical conduit.

Following this installation, the curb, gutter, and sidewalk will be replaced.

The sidewalk on the north side of 15th Avenue SW will also be closed for the project's duration.

Commuters and pedestrians are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow for extra travel time during this period.

Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the affected area.
