Lorilyn Lirio

Lorilyn Lirio – lorilyn@theJOLTnews.com – covers the City of Olympia for The JOLT. She has more than 20 years of solid experience in journalism.

She started her career at Journal Group Inc. in Manila, Philippines, where she honed her skills in reporting and communication. She was assigned to cover various government organizations and stories and provided in-depth and insightful reporting. Lorilyn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from the Lyceum of the Philippines, in Manila.

Among her reporting positions was a three-year stint at Marianas Variety, the oldest newspaper in the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. There she covered health, public education, and community affairs. She says this “invaluable experience broadened her understanding and appreciation of cultural divesity.”
