Lacey urges community to reduce water usage due to system repairs

Posted

The City of Lacey is urging community members to reduce outdoor water usage starting today through Friday, July 12, due to unexpected repairs on one of its wells.

The repairs, including water system work, testing, and treatment, are expected to be completed by July 12.

The two other wells in the city are already offline for planned rehabilitation.

Water usage tends to spike around the Independence Day holiday and during the high temperatures forecasted for the coming days.

Residents are encouraged to limit water usage by avoiding irrigation of any kind, car and other vehicle washing, and pressure washing.

The city will also reduce irrigation at all city-owned parks and managed landscapes, with the exception of active sports fields to protect public investments.
