My wife and I are stereotypical "mom and pop" landlords. We bought our three duplexes over 40 years ago, keep our units in good condition, keep our rents below the market, and have never had an eviction. One couple were tenants for 37 years.

Thanks to Jim Lazar for writing this article. It is accurate. I suggest reading it a second time to absorb all the information.

Too many of our local elected officials are too young and/or inexperienced to understand the way the housing market works. They're imposing regulations that might help a few people in the short run, but will predictably hurt our people and economy over the long haul.
